Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
Baseline measurement
A baseline measurement maps the starting point of CO₂ emissions or impact as a reference point for reduction targets.
The baseline measurement records scope 1, 2 and, where relevant, scope 3 following the GHG Protocol, so later measurements can be compared against the same reference year.
Applied in practice
New Economy carries out baseline measurements as the first step toward a reduction target or CSRD reporting, for insulation materials, healthcare products and biobased building materials among others.
