Footprintbaseline
A footprint baseline maps CO2 emissions, environmental costs and eco-costs across an organisation, creating a factual starting point for strategy, reduction targets and reporting.
A footprint baseline is the first structured measurement of organisational impact. It follows the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), identifies direct emissions, purchased energy and value-chain emissions, and shows where the largest effects arise. The result turns scattered data into a clear basis for decisions, reduction priorities and a practical action plan.
What gets measured
Scope 1
Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, such as fuels and heating.
Scope 2
Indirect emissions from purchased energy, including electricity and heat.
Scope 3
Value-chain emissions, often the largest share of the total footprint.
From data to insight
What the baseline delivers
- A substantiated CO2 footprint according to the GHG Protocol.
- Insight into the largest sources of impact and the most relevant reduction opportunities.
- A factual basis for reporting, compliance and strategic decision-making.
- A starting point for targets, measures and an action plan.

A footprint baseline is the first structured measurement of organisational CO₂ emissions and related environmental impact. It creates a factual starting point for strategy, targets and reporting.
Yes. For many organisations, scope 3 forms the largest share of the footprint. A complete picture requires value-chain emissions.
A footprint baseline maps environmental impact as a basis for strategy and reduction. A compliance baseline focuses on the data and structure required by regulation, such as the CSRD.
The results are translated into reduction targets, an action plan and priorities based on the largest sources of impact.
