Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
Social impact
Social impact is the measurable effect of an organisation, product or project on people and society, such as health, employment, liveability and equal opportunity.
Social impact becomes visible by valuing effects without a market price, such as health gains and social cohesion, alongside financial costs and benefits, often within a social cost-benefit analysis (SCBA).
Applied in practice
New Economy makes social impact measurable through social cost-benefit analyses and impact assessments, including for food initiatives and neighbourhood facilities, so social value is weighed alongside financial value.
