Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
The Societal Impact Analysis (in Dutch: Maatschappelijke Impact Analyse, MIA) is a decision tool that makes the societal added value of linked tasks visible across environmental, social and economic values. The analysis proceeds in four steps: setting the intervention goal, breaking the intervention into components, analysing qualitatively (activities, costs, societal value, linked tasks) and quantifying through cost-benefit analyses and comparable projects.
The result is a value-and-cost picture per task for a model neighbourhood, facilitating the conversation about priorities. The MIA is related to the cost-benefit analysis (MKBA) but lighter and focused on linking tasks. Source: Transform Zuid-Holland, buurttransform.nl (in Dutch).
