Drawdown

Drawdown is the point at which the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begins to decline rather than rise.

Definition

The concept ranks climate solutions by their contribution to that turning point, showing how measures add up together.

Applied in practice

New Economy uses the Drawdown methodology (Project Drawdown) as the basis for the Climate Action Recap: proven climate solutions are ranked per sector by their contribution to reduction and sequestration, combined with a Pareto analysis of the largest emission sources in a region.
