Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
CO₂ footprint
A CO₂ footprint quantifies the greenhouse gas emissions of an organisation, product, project or chain, usually expressed in CO₂ equivalents.
The footprint generally follows the GHG Protocol and distinguishes scope 1, 2 and 3, making direct and indirect emissions separately visible.
Applied in practice
New Economy calculates CO₂ footprints as baseline measurements for organisations and products, from insulation material to healthcare products and shared mobility, as a basis for reduction targets and compliance.
