GHG Protocol

The GHG Protocol is a widely used standard for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions, divided into scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3.

Definition

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol gives organisations a uniform method to categorise direct and indirect emissions, making footprints comparable.

Applied in practice

New Economy uses the GHG Protocol as the basis for organisational baseline measurements and CO₂ footprints, including scope 3 chain emissions, and as the foundation for CSRD reporting.
