Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
MPG Environmental Performance of Buildings
The MPG, Environmental Performance of Buildings, expresses the environmental impact of the materials in a building in a single score.
The MPG is calculated using the Dutch National Environmental Database and is mandatory in the Netherlands for the building permit of new homes and offices over 100 m².
Applied in practice
New Economy substantiates MPG scores with material choices from timber construction and value retention, building a lower environmental impact into the design from the start.
