Concepts, methods and applied transition knowledge
The New Economy knowledge base brings together core concepts, methods and perspectives from the regenerative economy. Articles explain footprint, compliance, circular product design, regenerative strategy, food systems and regional policy in practical terms, with clear links to life-cycle assessment (LCA), social cost-benefit analysis (MKBA), CO2 footprint, carbon sequestration, biobased materials and circular business models.
True price
A true price includes not only direct production costs but also social costs and benefits, such as climate damage, health, water, soil, biodiversity and working conditions.
The true price makes the external costs currently left outside the market price visible and addable, clarifying the actual bill to society.
Applied in practice
New Economy uses true-price thinking as a foundation for SCBAs and impact analyses: alongside the market price, the value of avoided damage and realised benefits also counts, with shadow prices as the calculation tool.
