Energy efficiency has the largest reduction potential within Gelderland industry. The ambitious scenario reaches 950 ktonnes CO₂-eq reduction per year by 2030 through process optimisation, heat recovery, energy management and electrification where grid capacity is available.

The measure matters because many industrial emissions are linked to heat, process energy and inefficient systems. Efficiency reduces demand before new infrastructure is needed. It can therefore deliver faster impact than heavier options, provided companies have access to expertise, investment capacity and implementation support.
