2,549 ktonnes CO₂-eq is the total reduction potential of the Mobility domain in the province of Gelderland by 2030, under the ambitious scenario of the Klimaatkansenkaart (Climate Opportunities Map). That is nearly five times the estimate scenario of 536 ktonnes. The gap between the two scenarios shows how much additional reduction becomes possible under maximum effort.
The distance between estimate and ambition is itself a policy insight. The estimate scenario follows existing policy, while the ambitious scenario asks for simultaneous acceleration on emission-free vehicles, charging infrastructure, smarter transport and modal shift. How much of the 2,549 ktonnes is actually realised therefore depends on the implementation choices made in the coming years — the technical potential is already mapped in the analysis.
