Onshore wind: 1,385 kton CO₂-eq reduction potential in 2030

Onshore wind has a reduction potential of 1,385 kton CO₂-eq by 2030 in the ambitious scenario. This makes it the second major energy solution in the Gelderland Climate Opportunities Map after rooftop solar. In the forecast scenario, the potential is 885 kton CO₂-eq.

The task is both technical and spatial. Wind projects require timely permitting, grid connection, landscape integration, ecological conditions and local support. The source makes clear that many projects need certainty well before 2030 to deliver real impact. Onshore wind is therefore mainly an implementation and decision-making challenge.
