For the industry sector, the Gelderland Climate Plan aims at a reduction of 1.8 Mton CO₂-eq in 2030, with a range of 1.6 to 2.4 Mton CO₂-eq in the underlying estimate (p. 83). The plan commits broadly to the circular economy; sequestration does not apply to this sector and stands at 0.
That ambition sits above the reduction potential of the Drawdown solutions calculated, which comes out between 0.077 and 1.2 Mton CO₂-eq. The difference shows that the provincial target reaches beyond what the four waste solutions analysed deliver on their own. Notably, the plan does not name landfills separately, even though they are the largest non-energy source in the sector.
