The food hub does not reach end users directly. Instead, it supports connected initiatives that serve about 2,750 households indirectly through the network. Its reach comes from collecting and distributing food flows and making them available to local distribution points and other food initiatives.
For the exploratory SCBA, this indirect reach is relevant, but it is not the same as 2,750 direct participants in one organisation. The food hub performs an infrastructure role within the wider network. Multiple initiatives can therefore reach households without each organising the same logistics and procurement separately.
