The four mobility solutions calculated for Gelderland together offer a reduction potential of 536 to 2,549 kton CO₂-eq per year in 2030. The lower bound belongs to the projection scenario, the upper bound to the ambitious scenario.
The wide range shows how strongly the outcome depends on policy choices: the difference between the two scenarios stems mainly from a higher share of electric cars and more extensive zero-emission zones. Emission-free vehicles and ZE zones together deliver the lion’s share, while smarter transport and cycling lower demand for car kilometres. Characteristic of the sector is that the solutions reinforce rather than add up to one another: one mode replaces another, which makes a plurality of measures necessary to reach the top of the range.
