Solar and heat pumps on existing homes: €8.2 million in value per neighbourhood

Renewable generation on and in existing homes — solar panels, solar boilers, thermal storage and (hybrid) heat pumps — delivers a model neighbourhood around €8.2 million in societal value against roughly €4.9 million in costs.

Households become less dependent on fluctuating gas prices, energy bills fall and property values rise; installation can be carried out by local companies. The Transform method assumes maximum generation per home. In a neighbourhood implementation plan this task follows insulation directly: first reduce demand, then add generation.
