Industry is the smallest climate sector of the province of Utrecht at 570 kton CO₂-eq of emissions per year — and at the same time the sector with the largest potential: 1,730 kton of reduction and sequestration by 2030.
The explanation is the shift towards circular and biobased materials, which relieve pressure on scarce resources and store carbon. Industry thereby holds a key role in meeting the needs of a growing population with climate solutions.
