Designing Cities for All: RE-generation
‘Designing Cities for All: RE-generation’ was the kick-off of a new programme series at Pakhuis de Zwijger on 16 January 2023, with regenerative design as its focus. Pepijn Duijvestein, director of New Economy and co-founder of Biobased Design, took part in the conversation.
What was ‘Designing Cities for All: RE-generation’ about?
The kick-off on 16 January 2023 at Studio PDZ opened a two-year series on regenerative design. The central question was how cities are designed not only for, with and by all people, but for every living thing within them. The evening introduced the first DCFA Fellow and two regenerative makers, and explored the themes of the series.
The series Designing Cities for All: RE-generation covers regenerative design, cooperatives and commons, (climate) just design, inter-being design, degrowth and (re)design of education. New Economy connects this urban design question with regenerative value creation, ownership and material flows.
