Zero-emission vehicles are the largest mobility lever

Zero-emission vehicles have the largest reduction potential within Mobility: 253 ktonnes CO₂-eq in the forecast scenario and 1,386 ktonnes CO₂-eq in the ambitious scenario toward 2030. Electrification is therefore the largest single mobility lever in the Gelderland Climate Opportunities Map.

The source places this within a broader transition. Electric driving requires clean power, sufficient charging infrastructure, smart charging, grid capacity and policy that limits unnecessary kilometres. The strongest climate impact comes when vehicle replacement is combined with smarter transport, cycling, shared mobility and spatial planning.
