The systems are technically high-grade, modular in structure and score highly on technical lifetime, purchase price and usage frequency. As a result, much value is retained when parts are maintained, replaced or redeployed.
The value chain analysis for the Overijssel manufacturing industry shows that repair and refurbishment together represent an economic perspective of €72.48 million. The largest circular gain therefore does not arise from material recycling, but from retaining product and component value for as long as possible. Performance models and smart maintenance can strengthen this route further.
