Ground-mounted solar has a reduction potential of 1,069 kton CO₂-eq by 2030 in the ambitious scenario. It is the third major energy solution in Gelderland after rooftop solar and onshore wind. In the forecast scenario, the potential is 855 kton CO₂-eq.
This measure requires specific attention to spatial quality. Solar parks can deliver major climate gains, but their value depends on siting, grid connection, landscape integration, biodiversity, agriculture and local support. The best implementation links renewable generation to place quality, rather than treating production volume as the only goal.
