For the agriculture and land use sector, the Gelderland Climate Plan sets a reduction ambition of 1.9 Mton in 2030. That task is to be met through a shift towards healthy soil, nature-inclusive farming, the manure and protein transitions and less food waste. The Climate Action Recap endorses the ambition and, with Drawdown solutions, shows a reduction potential of up to 2.549 Mton CO₂-eq, well above the central plan value.
The plan itself works with a reduction range of 1.3 to 2.2 Mton, within which 1.9 Mton stands as the central ambition. Sequestration does not count towards the plan’s 55% reduction target and is set separately there at 0.15 to 0.19 Mton CO₂-eq. The gap between that plan range and the higher Drawdown potential indicates how much room there is to exceed the ambition.
