Food value also becomes household budget

Food value also becomes household budget when rescued or donated products reach households with little financial room. The value of food is therefore not only nutritional, but also economic: money that does not have to be spent on groceries remains available for rent, energy, transport or other basic needs.

In food hubs such as Voedselcirkel Amsterdam, this effect depends on logistics and distribution. Social value is created when food flows, volunteers, partners and distribution points work together so products arrive on time. Food rescue then also becomes household-budget support.
