Components stay valuable after depreciation. Because of the very high pace of innovation in CNC systems, components remain valuable after the end product has been depreciated. Component retention through maintenance, refurbishment and remanufacturing can therefore yield more than recycling at material level. CNC systems retain considerable component value after depreciation, which is lost without a circular model.
An operating and performance model keeps CNC systems in use for longer and at higher value. This outcome is relevant for manufacturers of CNC systems, machine builders and organisations in circular manufacturing. Source: RTA Manufacturing Industry Overijssel (2020).
