The benefits of biobased insulation

Definition. The benefits of biobased insulation. Biobased materials such as flax, cellulose and wood fibre capture CO₂ as the plants grow, giving them low environmental cost and often high reusability; flax board, for example, is 100% reusable at just 3.0 kg CO₂-eq/m².

In the Amsterdam study, biobased materials score strongly on environmental performance: cellulose and flax board are among the lowest MPG. New Economy’s circular insulation study for Amsterdam reports this.
