Across 6 bridges and locks in Limburg and North Brabant, the dolphins and guide works are being renovated. These are the largely timber structures along which vessels slow down and moor while waiting for a bridge or lock to open. The renovation releases a large volume of material, and New Economy used a calculation model to map which of those released materials are suitable for high-grade reuse, both inside and beyond the project.
Because the assignment spans several structures, material flows and business cases can be weighed at portfolio level rather than object by object.
