The exploratory SCBA estimates that 32 food initiatives in Amsterdam-Noord generate approximately €10 million to €15 million in social value each year. The municipality finances about €0.92 million of the annual costs. Relative to that public contribution, the estimated social value is about €11 to €16 per municipal euro.
This ratio is not a cash return. It combines value from food access, prevention, health, social cohesion, activation and rescued food flows. Source: Food Initiatives: Why the Exploratory SCBA Shows Their Necessity, New Economy, Amsterdam-Noord SCBA.
