From Tree to Beam and from Beam to Beam are two pilot chains that translate the circular timber calculation model into building practice. The first begins with locally harvested timber, the second with timber released by demolition.
In the demolition chain, 1,200 beams and 7 kilometres of purlins were dismantled and put back into use. The pilots show that high-grade timber reuse does not stop at a model: the beams carry load again and the purlins lie in a roof again. That practical step is what makes the model testable, because only on dismantling does it become clear what a beam is still worth after thirty years.
