Aerogel is the thinnest insulation for tight spaces

Definition. Aerogel is the thinnest insulation for tight spaces. For roof or cavity spaces thinner than 30 mm, aerogel is the only material that still saves CO₂ emissions, thanks to its very high insulation value per millimetre. At €260/m², however, it is too expensive for large-scale use.

Most homes have enough space for a cheaper, more sustainable material. New Economy’s circular insulation study for Amsterdam reports this.
