Design for impact and a living
‘Design for impact and a living’ was a programme evening at Pakhuis de Zwijger on 27 November 2023, part of the Distributed Design Platform, on how designers create positive impact while building a viable practice. Pepijn Duijvestein, director of New Economy and co-founder of Biobased Design, took part.
What was ‘Design for impact and a living’ about?
During the evening at Pakhuis de Zwijger on 27 November 2023, the central question was how designers can do what they love, create positive impact and earn a living. The programme presented six innovative projects, in conversation with experts from the field of distributed design. The evening connected small-scale initiatives with wider societal change and with life-centred design beyond human-centred design.
The programme is part of the Distributed Design Platform, which works from the values open, collaborative, regenerative and ecosystemic. New Economy connects this design question with regenerative value creation, material flows and business models.
