Electric logistics delivers a 34× benefit-cost ratio

In the exploratory SCBA for food initiatives in Amsterdam-Noord, electric logistics costs about €0.06 million per year and generates more than €2 million in estimated social benefits. This gives a benefit-cost ratio of about 34; relative to the public contribution, the estimate is about €68 in social value per public euro.

The intervention uses electric vans and volunteers to collect food surpluses and deliver them to distribution points. These are exploratory scenario results rather than realised cash returns.
