Recreation and tourism are deeply embedded in the municipality of Veere. The challenge is to strengthen the sector’s resilience while protecting the qualities that make the area attractive: coast, villages, nature, space and local identity.
Context
Tourism creates economic value, but can also put pressure on housing, public space, nature and local communities. A future-proof tourism strategy must balance visitor economy with liveability and sustainability.
Approach
The project explored how tourism can become more resilient and sustainable through strategic choices and stakeholder engagement.
