Incineration and landfills are Gelderland’s largest industrial emission sources. That means the industrial climate task in the province is shaped strongly by waste systems, not only by heavy base industry.
For policy and investment, this changes the focus. Waste prevention, recycling, composting, landfill gas capture and cleaner incineration choices can be as relevant as classic industrial energy measures.
