For everyone in minimum-income households, the QALY loss is estimated at around €81.1 to €162.3 million per year. The MKBA by New Economy values lost health using €50,000 per QALY. The range shows the scale of avoidable health damage tied to food insecurity. Without a calculation, the social value of informal food initiatives stays invisible, while the cost of inaction keeps rising.
