Biobased construction links the industrial transition to carbon storage in materials. The analysis works with 116 ktonnes CO₂-eq sequestration per year in the forecast scenario and 231 ktonnes CO₂-eq per year in the ambitious scenario for 2030.
The value sits in three effects: biogenic carbon is stored temporarily to medium-term, high-emission materials such as concrete and steel can partly be replaced, and farmers can gain new markets for fibre crops. The route requires stable demand from building projects, quality assurance and regional value chains.
