Circular business propositions for the manufacturing industry in Overijssel

What is the impact of implementing circular solutions for several common products from the Overijssel manufacturing industry, and what potential exists for circular business? With this question as a starting point, New Economy, commissioned by the Province of Overijssel, began exploring the circular opportunities for the following products: salt spreaders, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, industrial food processors, CNC systems, and high-tech radar systems. These insights were incorporated into the Regional Transition Agenda (RTA) for the Manufacturing Industry of the Province of Overijssel and detailed in factsheets. This was done at the level of raw materials, components, and the product as a whole.

The developed factsheets provide insight into the factors influencing the manufacturing industry and also illustrate the opportunities for circular business models where products are no longer sold, but are marketed, for example, through a service model. For example, they address the availability of raw materials, potential disruptions in the supply chain, and the impending shortage of critical metals.

We are proud that our fact sheets and accompanying database are now publicly available so that everyone can gain insight and experiment with the possibilities offered by the circular economy.

Public database and factsheets
New Economy believes in the power of sharing to achieve innovation. That's why its factsheets and databases are available to anyone who wants to gain more insight into the opportunities for the manufacturing industry.

Curious about the fact sheets? View them in the Regional Transition Agenda for the province of Overijssel.
