Municipality of Veere
Recreation and tourism are in the DNA of the Municipality of Veere, its residents, and its businesses. With approximately 73,000 beds, the coast and the beautiful villages offer an attractive recreation area for Zeeland residents, day trippers, and overnight tourists. Veere is fortunate to have a large group of regular visitors who return year after year to enjoy the peace, space, sea, beach, and unique natural environment.
The municipality of Veere commissioned New Economy to create an opportunity map to demonstrate how the identified loss of value within the sector can be transformed into greater resilience, sustainability, and livability. Together with local businesses, the municipality, and residents, these objectives were developed into 36 concrete opportunities. Each of these opportunities contributes to increased biodiversity, improved water management, renewable energy, employment, and a pleasant living environment.
